ChronoLog Version 1.5 - QUICK INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you have a ChronoLog "master" diskette(s), one 3 1/2" or two 5 1/4"
floppy(s), the files are not compressed. There should be at least 14
files. See the file PACKING.LST for a listing of the minimum files
required. Do not erase any of the system files!
Use the following procedure to install:
- Copy all 14 files to a DOS subdirectory on your computer. If
you are upgrading, data that you have previously entered
will NOT be affected.
- Run CLINIT (the ChronoLog Database Initialization Program).
When it is finished, CHRONO (the main ChronoLog program) will execute
automatically.
***
If you have the ChronoLog files compressed into a single file (the
file name should be CHRON150.xxx, where xxx is the compression
extension such as ZIP, or EXE if it is a self-extracting file),
use the following installation procedure:
- Make sure that the compressed file has been copied to the
subdirectory on your hard drive where you want the ChronoLog
system files to reside.
- Decompress CHRON150.xxx. If the decompress is successful,
you may delete CHRON150.xxx.
- There should be at least 14 files when decompressed. See the
file PACKING.LST for a listing of the minimum files required.
- Type CLINIT (the ChronoLog Database Initialization Program) to
initialize a database in the subdirectory where the system files
reside. CHRONO will then execute automatically.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
IMPORTANT!!! If this is an evaluation copy of ChronoLog which you
purchased from a disk distributor (shareware catalog), please do not
contact the distributor to request a refund if you have problems. This
tends to make vendors remove shareware products from their catalogs!
Instead, get in touch with me and together we will work it out!

===== License for Use and Distribution =================
Shareware distributors and disk vendors who wish to advertise and sell
diskettes containing the Chronolog package, individuals who wish to
distribute it to friends or associates, computer bulletin board system
operators who wish to make it available for download by their users,
and Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add it to their disk
libraries are ENCOURAGED to do so, providing adherence to the
Distribution Restrictions are followed.
As the exclusive copyright holder for ChronoLog, ComputerEase authorizes
distribution only in accordance with the following restrictions:
The ChronoLog package - which includes fourteen (14) program and
documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any way and must be
distributed as a complete package without exception. The PACKING.LST
text file contains a list of the files that make up the ChronoLog
package. If any files listed in the PACKING.LST text file, or
the PACKING.LST file itself, are missing, then the package is not
complete and distribution is forbidden.
Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or
installation batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are
acceptable.
No price or other compensation may be charged for the ChronoLog
package. A distribution fee may be charged for the cost of the
diskette, shipping and handling, as long as the total (per disk)
does not exceed US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$12.00
internationally.
Vendors who wish to distribute the ChronoLog package as part of
a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk set, or a CD-ROM package) may do
so provided that all the other restrictions are met. It CANNOT be
sold as part of any other commercial or shareware system or packaging
offer, without the written consent of ComputerEase.
Rack sellers may market ChronoLog as long as (1) the software is
explicitly identified as SHAREWARE, with a prominent definition of
shareware displayed, and (2) ComputerEase is paid a fair royalty.
ComputerEase must approve the scheduled royalty payment prior to any
sales.
If you wish to add any of the system programs to a CD-ROM or other
collection, please check the release date of the version you have.
If the version is over twelve (12) months old, then please contact
us to ensure that you have the most current version.
The User's Guide (CHRONO.DOC) may not be printed and reproduced in
whole or in part, using any means, without the written permission of
ComputerEase.
The ChronoLog system cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.
ChronoLog may not be listed in advertisements, catalogs, or other
literature which describes products as "FREE SOFTWARE". Shareware is
"Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free!
Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify,
decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer
the licensed program except as provided in this agreement. Any
such unauthorized use shall result in immediate and automatic
termination of this license.
All rights not expressly granted here are reserved to ComputerEase.
--- Help Us Serve You Better ---
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - anyone choosing to distribute ChronoLog is
requested to notify ComputerEase so that upgrades may be provided.
This benefits us both!
We would appreciate copies of anything you print regarding ChronoLog.
Please send us a copy of any reviews, articles, catalog descriptions,
or other information you print or distribute regarding the ChronoLog
package. Thank you for your time and assistance and for supporting
the shareware marketing concept.
